Strength in Unity
Our sister projects were recently spotted, but our common vision has always been there.
AMBIANCE, Bio-Uptake, GREEN-LOOP, New Wave, VITAL and Waste2BioComp have united under the common aim of making sustainable processes and products a norm in the EU. To achieve this, they have recently formed the BIO-MATTERS Cluster. All participating projects receive funding under the Horizon Europe Programme and share a vision of providing a viable alternative to conventional materials by introducing novel materials and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques.
The idea to collaborate originated in a call organised by AMBIANCE last July. After this call, we have enjoyed many fruitful discussions and detailed planning, and we are pleased to announce that this effort is now fully underway.
Through this cluster, we aspire to boost the visibility of each project’s significant research outcomes but also strengthen the ties and cooperation among EU-funded research initiatives.
The Soul of the BIO-MATTERS Cluster:
AMBIANCE develops novel bio-based products for urban outdoor applications through innovative characterisation, digital technologies, and a circular approach.
Bio-Uptake aims to ensure a sustainable uptake of bioplastic composites by boosting a twin green and digital transformation in the European manufacturing industry.
Green-Loop has a primary objective of developing and showcasing a range of innovative, cost-effective, and eco-friendly bio-based products as alternatives to traditional materials.
New Wave will contribute to building a circular economy by introducing sustainable raw materials in 4 manufacturing lines, replacing toxic chemicals, and lowering the environmental footprint of the products.
VITAL will develop innovative thermoplastic processing solutions for foamed thermoplastics based on three b-bTP processing value chains: a 3D printing process based on granulated feedstocks, a Bead foaming process and a Foam Injection Moulding (FIM) process.
Waste2BioComp aims to demonstrate relevant scale production of bio-based products and materials using innovative manufacturing technologies.
