5th International Conference on Bio-Based Building Materials
Biomaterials are processed or engineered products obtained partially or fully from renewable biobased resources, including natural fibre composites, bioplastics, biorubbers, biofoams, bioadhersives, biobased paints and coatings. In the race for carbon neutrality, material construction is competing very hard, while biomass naturally sequesters carbon and is already at the top of the ranking. In consequence, we have to continue to demonstrate and show the superiority of ancestral materials compared to modern and conventional construction materials.
The purpose of the ICBBM 2023 international conference is to present the latest scientific knowledge- and the recent technical developments in the field of bio-based building materials as well as their applications in sustainable building constructions. The conference will address the broad aspects of bio-based building materials, such as natural fibres- and aggregates, ramped earth, innovative hybrid composites based on bio-based ingredients, novel sustainable binders, energy efficiency aspects- and life cycle analysis of these materials, applications and case studies, etc.
