A milestone in the in-line filament monitoring system developed by AIMEN

AIMEN is developing an advanced filament profile monitoring system for MONDO TUFTING, enabling precise measurement of filament geometric features during production. MONDO is a global player in the sports market and produces flooring and equipment for every application, from synthetic grass for football to wooden gyms for basketball to the latest generation of floors for fitness.

AIMEN has just deployed its cutting-edge filament profile monitoring system at MONDO’s facilities. This breakthrough technology delivers continuous, real-time, in-line measurements of the section profile of the extruded filament during production. For MONDO, this means unparalleled quality control in their artificial turf production within the AMBIANCE project.

AIMEN’s new system empowers MONDO to minimise waste and maximise output, improving efficiency and significantly reducing its environmental footprint. The technology detects deviations, alerts MONDO about potential issues, and allows for rapid adjustments in the production line. The system has been designed to operate without interrupting MONDO's production, allowing seamless integration into existing processes.

All collected data is analysed and integrated into a digital twin of the process, enhancing process optimisation and predictive maintenance. This breakthrough aligns with the project’s objectives of improving production efficiency and sustainability, reducing scrap and rejection during the manufacturing process.
