From Lab to Fab

RECENDT is an internationally well-recognised Research Center for Materials Characterization and Non-Destructive Testing with the mission to gain insight into materials, substances and processes in novel and non-destructive ways.

RECENDT develops optical and acoustic methods. The range stretches from fundamental research to developing state-of-the-art technology for industrial use in the field.

In AMBIANCE, RECENDT has designed its first 'THz-Moisture' prototype for THz-based moisture detection. The prototype will be used to detect moisture in outdoor decorative panels. From proving the principle with the THz lab setups to realistic testing under standardised conditions with the first “THz-MOISTURE” setup to prototype development, everything was done in the RECENDT labs in Linz.

AMBIANCE Project is working on transforming agricultural side streams into durable, eco-friendly construction bricks and decorative panels. This groundbreaking approach will:

• Maximise recyclability and reusability

• Minimise waste

The THz imaging integrated into the production process will ensure precision monitoring and adaptability, enhancing the manufacturing of these biobased Materials.
